Yoga for Gardeners with the University Museum, 3pm - 5 pm

Cost: $20 for Museum members and $25 per participant for non-members

Let the instructors of Blue Laurel Yoga introduce you to some simple restorative yoga poses that can aid in the relief of sore gardening muscles. Focusing on the muscle groups that gardeners work most heavily, we will offer stretches and strengthening exercises that can counter some of the discomforts that go along with digging in the dirt. We will begin with a practical introduction to yoga for gardeners, move into a series of postures that target hard-working muscle groups and close with a stroll through Bailey’s Woods.

Glenn Miller Orchestra at the Ford Center at 3 pm

The legendary Glenn Miller was one of the most successful dance bandleaders in the Swing era of the 1930s and '40s. A matchless string of hit records, the constant impact of radio broadcasts and live performances sustained the momentum of Glenn Miller’s popularity.

In 1942, at the height of its popularity, Glenn Miller disbanded his band and volunteered for the Army to lead the famous Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band. On December 15, 1944, Glenn Miller’s plane disappeared en route to France. He was officially declared dead a year later.

Because of popular demand, the Miller Estate authorized the formation of the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956. The 19-member band has been performing ever since and continues to play many of the original Miller arrangements as well as more modern selections in the big-band style.

Ticket Prices:
Orchestra Pit $42 • Orchestra/Parterre $39 • Mezzanine $35 • Balcony $32
Box Seat Tier 1 $39 • Box Seat Tier 2 $35
